Organic churches will have many problems. The same problems that the organic churches faced in the New Testament.
One of them was slander by disgruntled people against the people who planted the churches when a person’s expectations aren’t met.
This happened to Paul all the time. So in his letters, he responds to the lies and accusations against him.
Paul was falsely accused of being a money grubber, of being a deceiver, a cult leader, an immoral person, and much more (Gal. 1:11-2:10; 2 Cor. 11:16-12:12; Gal. 1:10; 1 Thess. 2:4-9; 1 Cor. 10:30; 2 Cor. 2:17; 11:7-21; 2 Cor. 6:8; 12:16; 2 Cor. 6:8; 2 Cor. 12:10; 2 Cor. 10:1-2, 9-11; Acts 24:5, 6; 16:20-21; 24:5; 2 Tim. 2:9).
Sometimes people will go on the attack against a church and a church planter when their feelings are hurt. Hatred motivates them. Vengeance is their motivation.
Other times the individual is mentally ill and they are motivated to blame someone and hurt them, even if that person wasn’t even present when things took place that offended them.
What do we make of all of this?
If you are part of an organic church, expect some people to be exposed to show the darkness in their hearts. You may be someone who gets attacked.
The other is if someone is being accused of something, no matter what it is, go to the accused person directly and ask them to respond to the accusations.
In many if not most cases, you will be surprised to find out that the accusations are false.
Jesus taught that the commandment above all others and that fulfills all other is to treat other people the same way you want to be treated.
If someone spread a rumor about you or attacked you, you’d want people who came across those accusations to come to you personally.
So says Jesus, do the same with others.
